Elektra 2500 Repeater Controller
NEW!!! ELEKTRA 2500 REPEATER CONTROLLER WITH VOICE ID
For the radio amateur or commercial use from Hamtronix
Easy to install
It has never been easier to set up a VHF/UHF repeater for the radio amateur or commercial use. Our new 2500 model comes with several new features, including an integrated squelch circuit. This means you don´t need to get COR/COS signal from inside the receiver anymore. That way anyone even without technical background can do it. You only need 5 connections to put your repeater on the air: audio discriminator from receiver, audio and PTT for the transmitter, ground and 12V.
All functions controlled at distance using the keypad of your radio.
6 Operation Modes
- Repeater: Each signal that reaches the receiver is transmitted by the repeater transmitter.
- Repeater with link: You only need an extra transceiver to link remote stations.
- Repeater with command port: Adding an extra receiver in a different frequency will let you control the functions without users being aware of it.
- Repeater with auxiliary port: Adding an extra receiver will allow you to use the repeater with priority over the regular users.
- Cross Repeater: Adding an extra transceiver will allow you to operate in cross mode, where signals coming through the main receiver will be transmitted by the extra transceiver and vice-versa.
- Simplex Repeater: The advantage of this mode is the reduced cost of installation. With only one single transceiver, you have a complete repeater station. All signals arriving at the transceiver will be recorded up to 20s and reproduced back by the transceiver. This mode is useful for mobile and temporary repeaters in events or for enhancing the covered area of FRS walkie-talkies (e.g., Motorola Talkabout).
Hundreds of Courtesy Tones
It doesn´t matter how crowded your area is with repeater stations; you will always be able to have a unique courtesy tone that can be easily recognized. Besides fourteen pre-programmed courtesy tones, a tone editor allows you to create an unlimited number of new tones. Furthermore, we created an exclusive Roller Beep that automatically changes the courtesy tones after a pre-programmed number of transmissions.
Morse and Voice ID
Elektra 2500 has a digital voice recorder with a capacity of 20s recordings. The recording can be made over the air, without you being physically at the repeater station. This way, you can change the voice recording all the time. Besides being used as a repeater ID, you can use the recorder to communicate meetings, weather condition announcements, and other information.
Three ID Modes
- CW Mode: The repeater identification is done by CW message up to 40 characters with adjustable tone and speed.
- Mix Mode: If the repeater is being used at the time of the identification, a CW message substitutes the voice ID. If the repeater is not being used, the voice message takes place. If during the voice ID someone starts using the repeater, the voice is replaced by the CW.
- Smart Mode: The 20s voice recorder time is divided into two 10s messages. If the timer of ID expires and the repeater is not being used, message one will not be played until a user activates and releases the repeater. This message one will be a welcome message. On the other hand, if the repeater is being used and the timer of the ID expires, message two will wait to be played until the repeater is released.
Six Output Switches
Six digital output switches are available for controlling equipment at your repeater site. These outputs can be used to activate relays to control appliances or any other devices. You can turn the outputs on, off, or pulse.
Two Alarm Inputs
There are also two alarm inputs available. They can be used to monitor power failure or any other event. When an alarm input is triggered, an extra tone will be added to the courtesy tone warning the users. The second input can be connected to a reed-switch at the door of the repeater site to alarm users in case of unauthorized opening of the door. In this particular case, a siren will be heard over the radio to indicate an alert. The repeater can still be used when the siren is activated because voice has higher priority.
